There are many ways to lose fat these days. Not all of them involve dieting and exercise.
We use three different treatments for reducing fat on the body.
Fat Freezing (cryolipolysis)
Fat Dissolving Injections
HIFU
Sometimes we use all three on a client depending which body areas are needing treatment, the clients expectations, budget and lifestyle.
What Do We Use Fat Freezing, Fat Dissolving Injections & HIFU For?
Fat Freezing is great for larger areas like the upper and lower stomach or hips. This is because that the machines handles have a 'cup' and that cup has to fit onto the area where the fat needs reducing. Our clinic has a cryolipolysis machine with 2 large cups, 2 medium sized cups and 2 small cups. One is for use on areas like bra fat and the smallest one is for the fat under the chin.
All fat freezing cups pull the skin and fat in the area with adjustable pressure. It doesn't suit all clients as we all feel discomfort differently. In areas of delicate skin we avoid stretching the skin and will advise the client on HIFU or fat dissolving.
Fat dissolving injections (fat melting) are used to inject Aqualyx into the area where you want to see fat loss. Each injection can dissolve fat in a square inch so a tummy might need a lot but under the chin may only need one.
We use Aqualyx injections on the smaller areas like around the knees, on upper arms and inner thighs too as sometimes the fat freezing cups won't sit comfortably on those areas.
Some clients don't like injections so we use another treatment.
HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound) can be used to melt the fat on the body. It's perfect for smoothing cellulite on thighs and buttocks and the tummy. At the same time as it tightens the skin which lifts the area.
How do each treatment work to reduce fat?
Fat freezing literally freezes the body area being treated. The fat cells freeze and start to die. Over the following 8 weeks the dead fat cells leave your body via your lymphatic system. The treatment takes 45 minutes plus 30 minutes for forms and confirmation of body areas with your therapist.
Fat dissolving injections use a injectable solution of Aqualyx which is made up of 12alfa-dihydroxy-5beta-24-oico cholanic acid sodium salts, which is a modified compound of cholanic acid. This has been used in various fields of human medicine since its discovery. Deoxycholic acid is present in our bodies naturally and is used in the emulsification of fats for the absorption in the intestine.
The treatment time varies due to the area being needed eg: more injections will be required the larger the area is. Your aesthetician will advise on the timing. The results can be seen within 4 - 8 weeks.
HIFU works by using ultrasound to ablate (gradually removing fat cells from the area by melting the fat tissue and causing molecular vibrations that increase the temperature of local tissue and induce rapid fat cell death.
The actual treatment is fast and a whole stomach can be done in 20 minutes. We add 30 minutes for forms, pre consultation (recap), and client dressing. We see good results immediately and the area improves over several months.
Why don't we fat freeze all the body areas?
We are often asked to do a whole body transformation and this is where we combine treatments for the best results. But we can't use fat freezing in all body areas because:
Some are too slim for fat freezing
Some prefer a faster treatment for fat reduction
Some prefer dissolving injections
Some want less fat reduction with skin tightening so we use HIFU
This is why we always consult with you first.
Other things to consider
Fat dissolving injections can be used on large areas but we find it perfect for the areas where skin is softer and a smaller area eg: bra fat, under the chin, back fat.
Hifu skims off fat cells enabling us to contour the body after a fat freeze or on it's own. This treatment is painless and there's no downtime.
We do fat freeze whole body areas but only where we recommend it. If we are rejuvenating and tightening the whole body we add fat melting injections and high intensity focused ultrasound where needed so that the torso or a shoulder to knees body shaping benefits from a combination of the treatments.
When doing a quotation on a full body fat reduction please remember that it is done over several weeks.
